Message from the Principal

February 6th, 2025|

Dear Families of Holy Name,

We are headed into the winter break. This will hopefully help with all the sickness here at school. We have students and families battling influenza A, pneumonia, fevers, coughs, sore throats, Fifth disease, and probably an assortment of others.

There are area schools that needed to shut down due to illness. Just some friendly reminders:

  • Wash your hands regularly
  • Get plenty of rest
  • Keep hydrated
  • Do not return to school until your child is 24 hours fever free without medication
  • Do not share water bottles or other beverage containers

I hope you have a restful weekend. I hope the volleyball and basketball games go well for everyone. On February 11, the teachers will be learning from educator and author Jason Barney. It will help us to delve deeper into classical education. He is a great presenter and I am confident our teachers will benefit. That trickles down to your child and they too will be blessed.

Spring Fling Information and Help Wanted

I am happy to share with you the “Sign Up Genius” link to volunteer for the 2023 Spring Fling which will be held on Saturday, April 15th.   Feel free to share with family and friends who would like to help.

We have many larger items such as patio sets, toys, grill, etc. that need to be put together to display the night of the event.  If anyone would like to specifically volunteer to do this please reach out to me and we can coordinate a date and time that works best for you.

Used Book Sale Next Week

March 10th, 2023|

The Used Book Sale will be Monday, March 13th, Tuesday, March 14th and Wednesday, March 15th during the school day. All books will be just $1. You can send the money with your student in a baggie or envelope with his or her name on it and they will be given an opportunity to shop the sale. Parents are welcome as well. All proceeds will go towards the library fund.

Holy Name Takes 1st Place in Science Olympiad

March 3rd, 2023|

On Saturday, February 25th, the Holy Name Crusaders competed at NMU in the Division B Regional Science Olympiad Competition. We had a team of 5 returning 9th graders, 3 from 8th grade, 1 from 7th grade and 5 sixth graders who participated for the first time.  In individual competitions, there were four 1st place medals, six 2nd place medals, and one 3rd place medal awarded.  Overall, our team placed 1st for the region and will be headed to State Competition for the third year in a row.  Please pray for and cheer on our team as they compete at MSU on April 22nd.
