Holy Name Catholic School has an opening for a part-time athletic director.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The AD would oversee all athletics in 4th-11th grades. The AD must follow all MHSAA rules and regulations. The AD would be responsible for any necessary paperwork required by the MHSAA for cooperative agreements or expanding athletic programs. The AD must be willing to work with Gladstone Public Schools for our cooperative agreement for high school sports.

The AD must be able to attend and supervise all home athletic events. The AD will be responsible for scheduling games, scheduling referees, hiring/supervising/evaluating coaches, setting up and cleaning from competitions, coordinating volunteers for concession stands, clean-up after competitions and organizing awards ceremonies for student athletes. The AD is responsible for collecting and managing all athletic uniforms and equipment. The AD must keep in contact with teachers to ensure that student academic eligibility policies are followed. The AD needs to be an excellent communicator utilizing e-mail, Remind or other means to communicate important information, reminders and/or changes to schedules.

Catechesis of the Good Shepard Catechist2022-06-26T10:10:26-04:00

Holy Name Catholic School is in need of a part-time Catechesis of the Good Shepard (CGS) Catechist.

The catechist will need to have completed Catechesis of the Good Shepard training in at least the first level of Catechesis of the Good Shepherd prior to starting for this position. The catechist would be serving students in grades pre-school through kindergarten. This would be a part-time position of 15 hours per week. Holy Name Catholic School is willing to assist with the cost of the training for the individual this summer if required.

The atrium is the center of the program and the catechist will be responsible for building up these environments as a place filled with God’s loving presence and wisdom. The catechist will be responsible for overseeing the atrium environments, working with guides throughout the school to enhance the life of faith in the rooms, and to work with the principal and student’s teachers in uniting prayer and the liturgical life with the school. Holy Name Catholic School is seeking a talented, friendly, and organized Executive Assistant to the Principal. This position is a part-time, 30 hours per week school-year employee working from the beginning of August to the end of June with July off.

This individual will be expected to handle a multitude of tasks including but not limited to answering and making calls, responding to e-mails, assisting the principal with scheduling, ordering, prioritizing tasks, preparing events and meeting materials, taking and typing minutes for various meetings, and meeting deadlines. The Executive Assistant will be responsible for filling out required paperwork from the State of Michigan and the Michigan Association of Non-public Schools. The Executive Assistant will attend all school council meetings and serve as recording secretary. The Executive Assistant may also attend other meetings as requested by the principal. The Executive Assistant will help the principal manage calendar, appointments, events, special anniversaries, setup meetings and tours. The Executive Assistant will handle required new-hire paperwork, setup background checks and manage personnel files.

People skills and computer skills are essential. Candidate must uphold professionalism, confidentiality, and friendliness in all situations. Working in a school office is fast-paced and can be very busy at times. The Executive Assistant must be able to prioritize tasks and limit distractions. The Executive Assistant will work closely with the office manager, receptionist, alumni director, finance coordinator, and other staff members as necessitated.

The Executive Assistant must have a goal of supporting the principal daily to allow the principal time to be free to interact, support, observe staff and students. The goal is to allow the principal more time to develop relationships with parents, students and benefactors. The Executive Assistant must work hard to represent the principal well in all matters.

Typical hours will be Monday -Friday from 8:30-3:00pm. There may be occasional after school responsibilities in addition to the school council meetings. The candidate also must complete the necessary background checks, fingerprinting, and be VIRTUS trained. Holy Name Catholic School is seeking a talented, friendly, organized and outgoing receptionist to be the head of the “First Impressions Department” of the school. This position is a part-time 30 hours per week school-year employee working from mid-August to Mid-June.

This individual will be expected to handle a multitude of tasks including but not limited to, basic first aid on students, collecting money, responding to phone calls, and answering occasional e-mails. People skills are essential and computer skills are preferred. Candidate must have the willingness to serve everyone that walks into the office with the greatest attention and care. Working in a school office is fast paced and can be very busy at times. The receptionist must be able to prioritize tasks. The receptionist will work closely with the office manager and may assist other members of the school as directed. Typical hours will be six hours Monday -Friday when school is in session. There may be occasional after school responsibilities. The receptionist will also be driving several students over to the Escanaba junior high for band on a daily basis several times a day. Holy Name Catholic School has an opening for a part-time Student Support Coordinator for the 2022-2023 academic year. Holy Name Catholic School is located in the Upper Peninsula in Escanaba, MI. As the Student Support Coordinator, you will be responsible for assisting the principal with setting up service plans and 504 meetings with teachers, parents and in some cases, students. The Student Support Coordinator will mentor students and assisting students with their social, emotional and spiritual needs. The student support coordinator will be asked at times to serve as a resource to support teachers with student behavior and academic needs.
