A Brief Viau

February 12th, 2026|

A Few “Brief” Notes from the Principal

Hello Crusader Families!

This Valentines week was short, fast, and full of fun.  It was exciting to see all the kids coming around with treats and Valentines. I was recently able to read aloud to the PreK4, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade classes during Library and I enjoyed it very much!

Congratulations to the 3rd Grade girls basketball team as they took first place in their tournament last weekend!  The 4th grade girls basketball team did a great job in the tournament as well taking second place!  Our Middle School girls volleyball team did a good job Monday night and they have a tournament this Saturday at Bark River Harris from 9am-4pm.

Just a reminder that we do not have school on Friday, February 13th or on Monday, February 16th due to the Mid-Winter Break.  School resumes on Tuesday, February 17th, and is a parent transport day.  I pray that you all have a wonderful, long weekend.  Happy Valentine’s Day!!  St. Valentine, pray for us.

God bless,

Mrs. Brief 😀

A “Viau” from the Headmaster

Hello Crusader Family!

Another quick week is in the books! Mr. Vic came and talked to our students this week about safety drills and the importance of doing them. Later in the week we had a successful lockdown drill and everyone is much more prepared if, God forbid, that ever happened here. I’m very proud of the students for taking it seriously.

I hope you all have a relaxing mid-winter break!

God Bless,

Mrs. Viau

Christmas Parade Float

November 13th, 2024|

Dear Families of Holy Name,

We have a parade coming in a few weeks on December 6. It turns out that Holy Name won first place last year. I saw pictures and was impressed with the beautifully decorated float demonstrating the meaning of Christmas. What we need is someone to lead this year’s float building. We will also need a team of people to help construct and put it all together. This is a golden opportunity to share the message that Christ came to save us. It is also a highly visible event for the Escanaba community. They can see the great things Holy Name does day in and day out.

Please fill out the form on the following link https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdUyusQj-0EWQwFxMz8SQ2PWp_Q3Ei4Hfxzuf03SRb7B-cv3g/viewform?usp=pp_url

Thank you for considering. Community is built on projects like this.

Peace and joy,

Nathan Vande Hey

All area Veterans and their family members are invited to attend; Veterans will be honored. Holy Name middle school and high school students will sing patriotic songs, with accompaniment by Senator Ed McBroom and HNCS Principal Nathan Vande Hey.
