Holy Name School plans Veterans Day Celebration Monday
Holy Name Catholic School is planning a Veterans Day celebration concert on Monday, Nov. 11 at 9:30 a.m. in the elementary school’s multi-purpose room. All area Veterans and their family members are invited to attend; Veterans will be honored. Holy Name middle school and high school students will sing patriotic songs, with accompaniment by Senator Ed McBroom and HNCS Principal Nathan Vande Hey. Songs performed will include “The Star-Spangled Banner,” “God Bless America,” along with the Armed Forces Medley (to salute each branch of the U.S. Armed Forces), and “God Bless the USA”.
Holy Name science teacher and U.S. Navy Veteran Mrs. JoEllen Hadel will show a presentation of photos that she compiled of Veteran family members of Holy Name students and staff, in order to thank them for their service. In addition, students in third, fourth and fifth grades will recite poetry. Students will also present handmade cards thanking our Veterans for their service. In preparation for the upcoming Holy Name Catholic School Veterans Day Celebration on Monday, Nov. 11, Holy Name 7th and 8th graders went to Holy Name High School (located at 2203 7th Ave. South) to rehearse their music. In the photos, Holy Name middle schoolers and high schoolers enjoy lunch at St. Anne Parish Hall (St. Anne’s is connected to HNHS).
