A Few “Brief” Notes from the Principal
Hello Crusader Families!
We started this week out with a beautiful Immaculate Conception Holy Day Mass said by Father Rob on Monday. Thank you, Father Rob, for providing our students and staff with such a beautiful Mass. The week continued with a fabulous Christmas Program from our PreSchool through 12 Graders, under the direction of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis. The program included pieces from our Grade School students, our 5th and 6th Grade Band and Choir, our 7th and 8th Grade Band and Choir, and our HNHS – A Chesterton Academy Band and Choir. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis have brought so much talent and expertise to our Holy Name students, which you could hear echoing throughout the Charlie Cretens Gymnasium. Thank you to all of our amazing students and the Ellis’ for warming our hearts, pleasing our ears, and getting us into the Christmas spirit.
Next up we will get to see our talented Juniors and Seniors put on the drama production Letters from the Titanic on January 8th and 9th at 6:30pm and January 10th at 1pm in the Grade School Multipurpose Room. Advance tickets are now available for a reduced price in both School Offices. Students will also be bringing an order form home today, so please be on the lookout.
Finally, as winter weather has arrived, if Escanaba Area Public Schools close due to inclement weather, Holy Name Catholic School will also be closed. Families will be notified by an announcement that will be made via our parent text and email alert as well as a post on our Facebook page.
Enjoy your weekend and God bless,
Mrs. Brief 😀
A “Viau” from the Headmaster
Hello Crusader Family!
Well, the big news this week was our fantastic Christmas concert on Tuesday night! For those of you that were here for it, you know how special it was. I’m so unbelievably proud of all of the students, but especially the high school kids. Since our school building is so small, it’s been an absolute pleasure for me to hear the improvement in the band and choir from the beginning of the school year to now. They’ve worked so hard and, as evidenced by their performance, that hard work has paid off! Also, a huge thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Ellis for all you did to make this a beautiful concert!
Next week, our High School students will be celebrating the last week of school before break with a “Winter Spirit Week”. The days are:
- Monday: Ugly Christmas Sweater Day
- Tuesday: Nativity Day (assigned roles)
- Wednesday: Holiday Movie Character
- Thursday: Fuzzy Socks + Flannel (after Mass)
- Friday: Holiday PJ bottoms.
On Friday morning, our students will be going bowling and permission forms will be going home today so please get those in right away!
Remember to mark your calendars for the Junior and Senior Drama Production! “Letters from the Titanic” will be held on January 8 and 9 at 6:30 p.m. and January 10 at 1:00 in the multipurpose room at the elementary school. Tickets are available in advance at the high school and elementary school!
Have a fantastic weekend, everyone!
God Bless,
Mrs. Viau
