Dear Families of Holy Name,
It is the end of quarter one. I had the opportunity to see many of our parents and students come to conferences. This is an important time to reflect on your child’s progress. Examining habits may be difficult, but one cannot change and stay the same. Every child is unique so your input is valuable in reaching your child’s fullest potential.
This week, boys basketball had their first games and cheerleading is also beginning. It was great to see our older girls support and teach our younger girls. I don’t think that we always appreciate the impact we have as older students and how much they are looked up to. We learn so much from imitation. We want to continue to have a culture rooted in Christ where we promote the dignity of each person and imitate that.
We were blessed with Holy Mass on Nov 1. Thank you Fr. Robb. The All Saints Festival went very well. So many amazing costumes and I was impressed with how many stories our students could tell about their saint. Thank you Julie Rexford and Brianna O’Driscoll for all your hard work and for Home and School.
On Monday, we are celebrating our Veterans. A big thank you to Mrs. Hadel and Dr. LaCosse for putting the program together. Our High School and Middle school will be singing. Grades 3, 4, and 5 have prepared poems. It will be a great tribute to our service men and women.
Peace and joy,
Nathan Vande Hey
