Dear Families of Holy Name,
What a fun Catholic Schools Week! I loved Entrepreneur Day. I definitely saw students who are on track to be in sales. I also loved the generosity of supporting the mission in Honduras. The praise and worship band brought great energy. Thank you to New Life for sharing your gifts and talents. Worship is a unifying trait in a world of religious divisions. Thank you Mrs. McDevitt and Mrs. Webber for leading and planning the activities.
This week we have been getting a lot of positive press regarding our wonderful school. Thank you to 97.1, 107.3 and 94.5FM for their support. Thank you to Channel 6 for the wonderful time together. Thank you most of all to the students that participated in the radio spots. They spoke confidently and authentically about our school and how it is helping to form them.
A few notes and reminders for the parents:
- The cash raffle early bird drawing is happening Feb 11 at 1pm. There is a chance to win $500. That winning ticket goes back in the bunch for the possibility of winning the big one later. If you have any raffle tickets to turn in, this is a great opportunity to motivate you.
- Re-enrollment is happening right now. There are reduced fees the earlier you do so. I would encourage you to sign up soon. It really helps drive our staffing and hiring process so the earlier the enrollment, the better.
- The Spring Fling is coming in just a few months. Tony Derkos is leading the charge this year. It is a huge event and many hands make light work. You will see opportunities to step up and help. Please pray for what God may be calling you to do.
- Just a reminder that volunteers at school need to be Virtus trained and background checked. The training takes roughly one hour and it is done online. Because the whole process takes time, it helps to have this completed so you can participate in our school activities. It helps our school to be safe and it makes it go more smoothly when people want to help.
Finally I want to say a big thank you to Margaret Renner, Todd LaFave, and Michelle Bink. They are stepping down at the end of the school year. I am so appreciative of their hard work and leadership. They have helped me with my transition and I am so appreciative. We are going to restructure the backbone of Holy Name and we have jobs posted. If you, or you know someone that would be interested in working for Holy Name as a Business Manager or as a Director of Advancement please reach out or send resumes and cover letters to employment@holynamecrusaders.com.
Peace and joy,
Nathan Vande Hey
