A Brief Viau

A Few “Brief” Notes from the Principal

Hello Crusader Families!

This Valentines week was short, fast, and full of fun.  It was exciting to see all the kids coming around with treats and Valentines. I was recently able to read aloud to the PreK4, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade classes during Library and I enjoyed it very much!

Congratulations to the 3rd Grade girls basketball team as they took first place in their tournament last weekend!  The 4th grade girls basketball team did a great job in the tournament as well taking second place!  Our Middle School girls volleyball team did a good job Monday night and they have a tournament this Saturday at Bark River Harris from 9am-4pm.

Just a reminder that we do not have school on Friday, February 13th or on Monday, February 16th due to the Mid-Winter Break.  School resumes on Tuesday, February 17th, and is a parent transport day.  I pray that you all have a wonderful, long weekend.  Happy Valentine’s Day!!  St. Valentine, pray for us.

God bless,

Mrs. Brief 😀

Hello Crusader Family!

Another quick week is in the books! Mr. Vic came and talked to our students this week about safety drills and the importance of doing them. Later in the week we had a successful lockdown drill and everyone is much more prepared if, God forbid, that ever happened here. I’m very proud of the students for taking it seriously.

I hope you all have a relaxing mid-winter break!

God Bless,

Mrs. Viau

A Few “Brief” Notes from the Principal

Hello Crusader Families!

I am so excited that so many of you took advantage of the Catholic Schools Week Enrollment opportunity to register for only $25!  72% of our current Holy Name population re-enrolled for the 26-27 school year in just one week!!  If you forgot, no worries!  Enrollment is now open for everyone!  Please see the flyer in this week’s Crusader for more information on how to register.  The longer you wait to enroll for next year, the more the registration fee increases, so please register early and please share enrollment information with all of your friends and family!

We recently hit the halfway point of the school year, and we’re noticing how much our students are growing!  Many of our students have gone through a growth spurt which is showing in their skirts and pants.  Please remember that according to our handbook, uniform skirts and shorts are to be no higher than 2 inches above the knee.  If you’re not able to purchase new uniforms, please stop by our uniform closet.  We have several uniforms in all sizes that you can shop through.  Donations are suggested at $1 a piece, but not required.

We will be offering an all school Ash Wednesday Mass on February 18th at 2:15pm in the Grade School Multipurpose Room.  Mass uniforms are not required on Ash Wednesday, but regular school uniforms are required.  We will still hold our weekly all school Mass on Thursday, February 19th at 8:45am in the Multipurpose room at the Grade School, and Mass uniforms will be required.

I pray that you all have a wonderful weekend.

God bless,

Mrs. Brief 😀

Hello Crusader Family!

Finally having a full week of school has been amazing! Scholarship information packets went out to all of the seniors this week. These are for the foundations given out by Holy Name benefactors as well as those held at the Community Foundation. The applications are due back to me by March 26th. Please remind your seniors to get them back to me by that date. I’m here to help if they need it!

I wanted to remind everyone that our Lenten Fish Fry’s are coming up. The first one is on February 20, 2026. The proceeds for these fish frys help out our students that attend the Rome Pilgrimage when they are juniors or seniors. If you’ve never come to the fish frys, you are missing out! They are delicious and many people have said that they are the best in the area!

That’s all I have for now. Have a fantastic weekend, everyone!

God Bless,

Mrs. Viau

The Brief Viau

A Few “Brief” Notes from the Principal

Hello Crusader Families!

This Catholic Schools Week was full of Faith, Fun, and Family!  We kicked it off with an amazing K9 Unit Demonstration from the Escanaba Public Safety K9 Team and four of their K9 Officers as we celebrated our Community.  On Tuesday the students dressed up as their favorite Staff member and it was really neat to see their creativity as there were many smiles while we celebrated Staff/Faculty.  Wednesday we celebrated Nations by wearing red, white, and blue, and raised $1,743.93 at Entrepreneur Day!  Thursday we celebrated Vocations with a beautiful Mass from Father Tim, Father Rob, Deacon Bob, and Seminarian Ethan, and the students gave them care packages that they put together.  We also enjoyed an amazing Worship Concert.  Today it’s all about the students as they enjoy a N.U.T. Day and show off their skills at the Talent Show.  Tomorrow we will wrap up the week celebrating Families at Movie Night in the Multi with pajamas and popcorn.

If you haven’t taken advantage of the $25 registration fee for the 26-27 school year, be sure to do so soon!  The offer is only available during Catholic Schools Week for our current families only.  Don’t forget that we have a uniform donation closet that you’re welcome to shop from if you’re in need of uniforms!  If you would like to make a donation of uniforms that don’t fit anymore, or if you would like to purchase pieces of clothing for $1 donation, please stop by the Grade School office and Mrs. LaMarche or Mrs. Lynch will help you out.

Thank you for all of your support during this very special Catholic Schools Week!

God bless,

Mrs. Brief 😀

What a week it’s been here! We finally got a full week of school in and it sure felt good to get back into a routine.  It’s been exciting to see the enrollments come through for some of our current students this week! If you haven’t yet, please take advantage of the lower enrollment fee for current students just this week! It’ll go up next week and the weeks after so lets get those registrations in soon!  It’s hard to believe, but planning for next year has already begun and getting our enrollment numbers in will help us continue to plan. Open enrollment begins next week so please share with your friends about all of the great things that happen in our school. Shadow Days are also available at the high school; I’d be happy to meet with interested students or parents. Please just pass my information along.

Catholic Schools Week went well. The High School students took part in the dress up days and helped out with Entrepreneur day at the elementary school. The worship concert on Thursday was amazing, too! It was great to be together as a whole school for these events.

What a blessing it is for us all to be part of a wonderful school family. Our school is rooted in Jesus Christ and there is truly nothing more important than that!

Have a fantastic weekend!

God Bless,

Mrs. Viau
