Teachers & Staff
Mrs. Casey began teaching at Holy Name in 1987. She has her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education through Northern Michigan University. Her favorite Saint is St. Therese and she says Holy Name is unique because she can teach the children about Jesus and it feels like a school family. Before she began working at Holy Name she was a substitute teacher and teacher assistant in Kindergarten. Mrs. Casey has a husband Michael and son Ryan. In her free time, she enjoys to read.
Ms. Carne began teaching at Holy Name in 2013 and has a Bachelor degree in Elementary Education from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. Ms. Carne coaches 7th grade girls’ basketball and says the strong family atmosphere is what she likes most about Holy Name. Before working at Holy Name she worked at the YMCA for eight years and was a camp counselor and director at Camp Harstad. Her uncle Dave Taylor attended Holy Name. Ms. Carne has a niece Marci Arlene that was born August 30, 2018. She loves to play basketball and has ran in 5K & 10K races. “People (kids) don’t’ care how much you know until they know much you care”. – John C. Maxwell
Mrs. Bessonen began teaching at Holy Name in 1986 and has a Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Michigan University. Prior to working at Holy Name Mrs. Bessonen worked at Shopko. Her favorite Saint is Saint Anne and thing she likes most about teaching at Holy Name is being able to teach about our Catholic faith and she loves how Holy Name is a spiritual and prayerful community. Mrs. Bessonen is married to Erik Bessonen and they have two children David and Rachel. Rachel is an alumnus from the class of 2015. They also have a dog Heidi that is a German short hair pointer dog. In her free time, Mrs. Bessonen enjoys reading and camping.

Lori LaMarch2nd Grade Aide
Prior to joining Holy Name in 2005, Lori worked as a receptionist/secretary for Phil & Lee’s Homes and was a stay at home mom. Lori attended Holy Name 4th-7th grade and her husband Rick is an alumnus (class of 1975) as well as her children Lindsey (class of 2005) and Ryan (class of 2008) and she currently has grandchildren in 1st and 4th grade. Their family has a pet dog named Chica. Mrs. LaMarch enjoys working with the children in a classroom setting, watching them grow in knowledge and developing confidence in what they do. She truly enjoys that she can openly practice her Catholic faith while at work. In her free time, Mrs. LaMarch enjoys spending time at her cottage with family and friends.
Brigette Hartges3rd Grade Teacher
Miss Hartges began teaching at Holy Name in the Fall of 2018 and has a Bachelor degree in elementary education through St. Norbert College. Her favorite Saint is St. Clare, Blessed Chiara Badano. Prior to joining Holy Name Miss Hartges worked at The Pines Catholic Camp Missionary and taught 2nd grade at St. Joseph Catholic School in Richardson, Texas. She has a mother, father, two brothers and two sisters. In her free time Miss Hartges enjoys the great outdoors.
Amy LaMarche3rd Grade Aide
Prior to joining Holy Name in 2010, Mrs. LaMarche had a day care in her home. She is married to Dale and together they have two daughters and a son. Amy attended Bay de Noc Community College. She enjoys watching the kids grow every year at Holy Name. In her free time, she enjoys camping, skiing, travel and reading.
Michael Lepisto4th Grade Teacher
Mr. Lepisto began teaching at Holy Name in the fall of 2018 and has a Bachelor degree in elementary education through Northern Michigan University. He also attended Emmaus Bible College for one year and he has a Master’s degree from Central Michigan University. He retired from Bark River in the spring of 2017 and missed teaching and applied at Holy Name. He always heard great things about Holy Name and his faith is very important to him and has always wanted to work at a school where Faith and Christ is encouraged and demonstrated. He worked at Wells Township School in Arnold grades 6-8th for 11 years and then Bark River for 19 years where he taught 4th, 6th and junior high Science. He also taught Drivers Ed for 15 years and farmed, logged and worked road construction. He has a wife Kathy who also works as an aide for Holy Name and two daughters, who each have young boys and both are expecting this year! He has a black lab dog, cats and chickens. In his free time, he helps his wife with her bakery business (roadside stand at the Marquette Farmer’s market), volunteers at church, farming, hunting, and spending time at his cottage in Little Lake (Farmer’s Lake) with his family and being in the woods.
Ms. Cashen began teaching at Holy Name in 2013 and has her Master’s degree in elementary education through Central Michigan University and University of Phoenix. She has two sons who are alumnus of Holy Name. Leo is a senior at Julian is a freshman at EHS. Ms. Cashen was inspired to work at Holy Name because while her two sons attended, she witnessed strong examples of Christian fellowship among parents and school staff. She loves working in a community where she can share her faith with others, pray with others, and feel a part of God’s family. Her favorite Saint is Saint Joseph. She has a dog “Sherman”, a horse “Apollo”, and two cats. In her free time, she enjoys kayaking, hiking, biking, and gardening.
Mark Chouinard5th Grade Teacher
Mr. Chouinard began at Holy Name in 2012 and has a Bachelor’s degree in education from Central Michigan University. His favorite Saint is Padre Pio and says Holy Name is unique because students strive for success, they want to be better at everything they do from education to sports. Prior to joining Holy Name, he worked in Manitowoc, Wisconsin where he taught middle school, high school, after school tutor and AmeriCorps. Mr. Chouinard is married to Jessica and together they have two children who attend Holy Name, Jonah in readiness Kindergarten and Amelia in first grade. He has bees as his pets and enjoys to travel, gardening, bee keeping and sports in his free time.
Mrs. Racicot joined Holy Name in 2015 and has a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Northern Michigan University. She loves that she can share her faith at Holy Name and being able to invite Jesus into the classroom. Before joining Holy Name, Mrs. Racicot worked as an aide and teacher at Head Start. She also was a substitute teacher for Holy Name and Bark River. Her parents are alumnus of Holy Name and she has a husband Joe, children Devin (18), Tyler (16), Melody (13), two dogs, four cats, one rabbit, four goats, four horses and seven chickens. In her free time, she enjoys to spend time with her family, camping, bike riding and reading.
