Brief Viau

A Few “Brief” Notes from the Principal

Hello Crusader Families!

I hope you’re all enjoying this Easter Season.  This week I handed out Perfect Attendance and Honor Roll awards during Convocation and it was such a blessing to see so many students receiving awards.  Our students and teachers work so hard every quarter and it’s nice to be able to reward their achievements.  There’s nothing better than seeing the smile of pride on their faces.

I have recently had some questions about the difference between our advisory council and a governing board.  In Catholic schools, the difference between an advisory board and a governing board comes down to authority and responsibility. A governing board has legal and fiduciary responsibility for the school, making final decisions on finances, policies, and leadership while ensuring the school’s long-term stability and Catholic mission. An advisory board, by contrast, offers guidance and support, but does not have decision-making authority. In short, a governing board leads and decides, while an advisory board advises and supports.

We have a wonderful, supportive advisory council that meets on the second Tuesday of each month in the Conference Room at the Grade School at noon.  These meetings are open to the public.  By request, we are going to add a virtual option starting in May, however a request for a virtual link must be submitted in advance to the principal.  A virtual link request will not be approved if it is requested less than 24 hours in advance of the meeting.  Virtual links will be provided as an option to listen/view only.  If a public comment would like to be made, it must be made in person and the topic of the comment needs to be provided to the principal and approved by the principal prior to the meeting.  If you’re not able to attend the meeting in person or virtually, but would like to see the minutes, they are available in the Grade School office for you to view.

I’m looking forward to seeing all of you at the Spring Fling tomorrow, Saturday, April 18th!  Doors open at 4:30pm.

God bless,

Mrs. Brief 😀

A “Viau” from the Headmaster

Hello Crusader Family!

Another busy week in the books, here at the high school. Student report cards went home on Monday, so parents, if you haven’t seen them, check their backpacks! 🙂 They’re jumping into the 4th quarter of the year with both feet-we’re going to have a strong finish!

We have a few exciting things coming up!  Please mark your calendars!

  • Pasta Dinner, April 24, 2026 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the multipurpose room.
    • This will be a great opportunity to hear from this year’s Rome Pilgrimage participants. They’ll be there to show pictures and talk about their trip. The cost is $12 per person, and 8 years old and under is $9. Money raised will go towards the next Rome Pilgrimage.
  • High School Prom, May 9, 2026
    • The theme is Masquerade and the cost is $20 per person and includes dinner. Students were given out information this week for this.
  • Spring Concerts!
    • Tuesday, May 12 at 6:00 for 1-4
    • Thursday, May 14 at 6:00 for 5-12th grade
  • Senior Mass
    • Thursday, May 14 at 8:45 in the Multipurpose room at the elementary school
  • Last day of school for our senior class
  • High School Awards Night
    • For all 9-12th grade students and families
    • May 21, 2026 at 6:00 at St. Anne’s parish
  • High School Graduation
    • Friday, May 29. Mass at 6:00 p.m. with the ceremony to follow. This will take place at St. Anne’s Church.

I hope to see you all at the Spring Fling on Saturday!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

God Bless,

Mrs. Viau
