Message from the Principal

Dear Families of Holy Name Catholic School,

I hope you are basking in the glow of Easter and mercy this week. Jesus is Risen! He is risen indeed. We have a number of beautiful things happening. Several students shadowed at the middle school and high school and I have toured a number of families. We still have places available in Kindergarten and Preschool. Thank you for sharing the good news of Holy Name with prospective families.

We had students and newly registered students enter into the fullness of the Catholic Church last weekend. We welcome you and are so grateful you can celebrate the sacraments. We all need food for the journey and the sacraments sustain us.

Our Science Olympiad team heads to Michigan State on Friday and Saturday. The middle students were one of the top 4 teams in the UP. Thank you to Mrs. Hadel and the wonderful parent volunteers who have been helping coordinate this effort. We wish them many blessings and please pray for their safety.

There are quite a few field trips and other activities coming up. We really want everyone to be able to participate. To ensure the safety of everyone, the diocese requires all people working with or around children to take the Virtus training. It takes an hour or so and it is done online. I would like to thank all of you that have taken care of it already. We take the safety of our students seriously. Please encourage grandparents and other special people in your lives to do the Virtus training as soon as possible.

Spring Fling is one week away. Please consider asking your friends, family, and neighbors to join us for this event. This fun event is an important fundraising event. It is also a great opportunity to continue to build community and forge new friendships. There are volunteer opportunities available and many hands make light work. Please contact Tony Derkos to find out more.

Big news is coming at the weekend Masses. You will get a sneak peek when you go and we will be formally announcing it on Monday.

Monday is a N.U.T. Day!

November 18th, 2022|

Monday, November 21st will be a N.U.T. day in celebration for the success of the Papa Murphy Fundraiser! The students will also enjoy an ice cream treat as well for the combined efforts.

It was another SUCCESSFUL year for the Papa Murphy‘s Fundraiser!  The students sold just over $33,000 worth of pizzas, that is up about $3,000 from last year!  Amazing!  Holy Name’s Home & School will receive just over $11,500 of the proceeds!

      The top selling classroom was Mrs. Pangborn’s class with $5,480.00! The classroom with the best percentage of participation (89%) was Ms. Cashen’s class! Each of these classrooms will receive a pizza party!!! Also, due to the FANTASTIC sales, the entire school has earned a NUT Day to be held at a future date.

All Crusader Bucks are going home with the students today, please check their backpacks and distribute the orders.
Thank you to parents and students and all who help make this fundraiser such a success each and every year!  Also, thank you to the volunteers that helped me count and tally the order forms!
