Welcome to Holy Name Catholic School! As you may be aware, running a parochial school is very expensive and Holy Name must do everything possible to raise money in order to keep tuition costs down. Allow me to introduce you to Holy Name Scrip – a no-selling program that enables families to raise money for their school, tuition, or parish at no extra cost to you. This fundraiser raises about $25,000 every single year for your school.
“Scrip” is just another way to pay for everyday purchases using gift cards that we sell in place of cash, checks, and credit cards. You purchase gift cards at face value, and your scrip coordinator orders those cards from Great Lakes Scrip Center at a reduced price. The difference is an instant rebate for your organization. It’s really that simple! Great Lakes Scrip Center offers more than 700 of the country’s biggest retailers, including grocery, department stores, gas stations, restaurants, hotels, home improvement, and more. Just by using scrip to pay for your normal weekly purchases, you can easily raise $500 or more per year. It’s time to put your shopping dollars to work!
Purchasing scrip is easy in person at the school office during school hours or at All Saint’s Parish Office in Gladstone, St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton in Bark River, or at St. Anne’s Parish Office during their office hours. Even better and easier yet, there is online and mobile scrip available!!! You can register online by going to ShopWithScrip.com and clicking “Join a program”. You will need to enter our enrollment code: BLE2EEA2664. For Mobile Purchasing after you already signed up at “ShopWithScrip” go to MyScripWallet.com.
You may also special order any of the Scrip that is on the list of participating Great Lakes Scrip retailers at glscrip.com. Turn in your paid Scrip special order by Tuesday at 9:00 AM and it will be at the school for you by the following Tuesday.
Families are required by Holy Name Catholic School to earn $200 of Scrip credit. The Scrip credit goal has remained the same for the 2019-2020 school year. This means that your family will need to buy about $4,000 worth of Scrip (if the Scrip you purchase averages a 5% Scrip donation percentage). After each family has earned the $200, half of the difference will be credited to the parents as a Scrip tuition credit for the following school year. Any amount less than the $200 will be billed to the parent’s account after March 1, 2020. Periodically, throughout the year, the Scrip office will send statements to our families to let them know how much they have earned. You can also check your GLSC account if you have signed up online to keep track of your credit.
We are always in need of volunteers… Especially during Easter and Christmas. If you are interested in learning more about the program or volunteering, please call me at the Scrip office at 786-7550, ext. 40 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
