Dear Holy Name Families,

I have one new positive COVID-19 case to report today. It is our kindergarten aide that was considered a close contact with a positive case. I sent an email regarding this individual on Sunday afternoon. At the time I sent the communication on Sunday I was told that she was not exhibiting any symptoms and therefore it did not require us to do anything at the time.

This person was tested as a precaution Saturday morning and received the positive COVID test today. Upon further investigation this person was exhibiting some symptoms on Thursday, October 8th. We have been in contact with the health department and we are going to need to quarantine the whole kindergarten class beginning tomorrow, October 15th. The kindergarten class will be able to return on Thursday, October 22nd as long as there are no other cases in the class.

Mrs. McNamee will be putting together packets tomorrow for parents to pick up anytime between 1:00-4:00 p.m. outside the office. Mrs. McNamee will also be contacting families to set up small groups to meet on Zoom. Please let us know if there is anything else that we can do to support your child at home over the next week. Thank you for your patience and support as we make this difficult announcement.

Tomorrow I would like to invite you to Mass at 9:10 a.m. We will be having a guest priest, Fr. Rob Jurkovich, celebrating Mass with us. Fr. Rob is currently serving as the chaplain of OSF St. Francis Hospital. Tomorrow is also the feast day of St. Teresa of Avila. We actually have a statue of her in our main hallway when you walk out of the multi purpose room. She is a great saint and had a great sense of humor.

God bless,

Joe
