There are no new COVID cases to report today.

I have a couple updates to inform you of regarding COVID and the last few days of school. As you may have heard, the CDC made some changes to their COVID practices last week and our Governor followed suit shortly afterwards. Below are some of the changes that pertain to schools. I have discussed these changes with both the diocese and our local health department. The changes are as follows:
1. Masks are no longer required to be worn outside at anytime. 2. If you are a fully vaccinated person, you do not have to wear a mask inside the school. 3. Only close contacts within 3 feet of a positive case will still have to be quarantined. It is no longer six feet. I will still be required to report people that were within 6ft, however, those beyond three feet will not need to be quarantine. 4. The quarantine time remains at 10 days and not 14 days.
These are certainly welcomed steps to getting back to normal. You can still choose to wear a mask while entering the school even if you are vaccinated. I don’t want this to become divisive among us, so please remain charitable with one another. We will not be asking everyone entering the school without a mask to verify that they are vaccinated. As an act of unity with our students, most of my staff, vaccinated and not vaccinated will be continuing to wear a mask as our kids still have to. I’m grateful for everyone’s support and for the fact that despite numerous quarantines this school year, we have remained open all but one day due to COVID.
