Holy Name High School - A Chesterton Academy

Chesterton Academy, a joyfully Catholic, classical high school, seeks a talented literature teacher for the 2021-22 academic year. The position is part-time and would teach a 9th grade Literature class on Homer, Virgil and works by G. K. Chesterton.

Strong preference will be given to candidates with training in the IEW method. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in theology, history, literature, or a related field is required. Two to three years of teaching experience is preferred, but a passion for Catholic classical education is required.

The candidates must be willing to take the Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium and preference will be given to practicing Catholics. Candidates must demonstrate excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills, and possess a track record of contributing to the vision and mission of an apostolic and educational enterprise.

In addition to their teaching responsibilities, faculty at Chesterton Academy participate in the House system, which is designed to promote character and virtue, and to help students grow in holiness. Faculty members are required to attend daily Mass with the entire student body and attend spiritual retreats and school activities.
