JMJ Dear Family, I hope that everyone had a nice three day weekend. As you can see, I have a long list of COVID updates to report. It was pretty late by the time I was able to finish everything up and I didn’t want everyone’s phones pinging late at night. So, I chose to send it this morning instead. Yesterday, we had one of our boys on the boys’ basketball team test positive during the athlete antigen testing. Unfortunately, the 8th grade boys’ basketball team will also need to [...]
JMJ Dear Family, There are no COVID cases to report for today. I hope that everyone has a nice three day weekend starting tomorrow! This Saturday, May 1st at 9:00 a.m., we will be having an outside work bee at Holy Name. We would love to have you join us! Did I mention there might be some doughnuts? 🙂 Have a great weekend everyone! God bless, Joe
JMJ Dear Family, There are no new COVID cases to report today. Today we had a great gymnastics show! It was amazing and the kids really enjoyed it! Mr. Vic and I even had the opportunity to be a part of the act. It was a little nerve-racking for both of us but we couldn’t let the kids down. Please pray for this team as they continue their travels and shows throughout the state. Please feel welcome to join us for Mass tomorrow at 9:10. JMJ Dear Family, Thankfully, there are no new COVID cases to report today. We do know that there has been an uptick in positive COVID tests locally. We have had more quarantines and positive cases in the last two weeks than we have had in the previous 12 weeks. To my knowledge, we have only had three students test positive for COVID and two of them were from the same household during this time period. As a reminder if your child or a member in your family is experiencing any [...]
JMJ Dear Family, I have one new COVID note to mention today. We were informed today that we had a parent of one of our students in Mrs. Hadel’s 6th grade homeroom class tested positive. The student is not showing any symptoms and there are no additional quarantines at this time. Many of you may have read the communication from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. Beginning on Monday, April 26th. all students in pre-schools and daycares that are two years and older must make a “good faith [...]
JMJ Dear family, Please keep Mrs. Bessonen and her family in your prayers. Her sister passed away unexpectedly today. Have a wonderful evening and make sure the people you love know it. There are no new COVID cases to report today. God bless, Joe 409 S. 22nd Street | Escanaba, MI 49289 P: (906) 786-7550 | F: (906) 786-7582 | W: holynamecrusaders.com It's more than a school...it's a way of life!
JMJ Dear Family, Thank you once again for supporting this year’s Spring Fling! It was a record breaking year! May God bless you for your generosity and for supporting the school. Our goal was to raise $30,000 and we ended up raising $34,583! I have a couple COVID items to communicate. First, we had a 5th grade student test positive with COVID over the weekend. There are no close contacts to this student and no further quarantines are necessary. During our athletic testing, we had a student in Mrs. Prey’s [...]
JMJ Dear Family, I do not have any COVID updates to report today. However, the boys basketball game for tonight has been cancelled due to a COVID case at North Central. Some of you may know that Pope Francis has dedicated this year to be “The Year of St. Joseph!" St. Joseph is my personal favorite saint (for obvious reasons). Saturday, May 1st is the Solemnity of St. Joseph the Worker. I was just informed that Bishop John Doerfler has decided to give all students, staff and teachers the day [...]
JMJ Dear Family, We were informed today that an older sibling of one of our 7th grade students in Mrs. Prey’s homeroom class tested positive for COVID. Our student is not experiencing any symptoms and tested negative for COVID. There are no other quarantines required at this time. Have a nice evening and God bless, Joe
