MEET MR. CARLSON J.M.J. Mr. Carlson was born and raised in Petoskey, MI. He is the second oldest of five children. He is married to Annie and they have two sons, Joseph (3 years old) and John David (1 year old). 
Mr. Carlson attended St. Francis Xavier School in Petoskey, kindergarten through 8th grade. He then attended Petoskey High School and graduated in 2000. During his freshman year of college, Mr. Carlson attended North Central Community College in his hometown. He transferred to Northern Michigan University in Marquette, MI. Upon graduation in 2004, Mr. Carlson accepted a 5th grade teaching position at St. Mary Cathedral School in Gaylord, MI. He taught 5th grade for three years and was an assistant principal for one year at St. Mary's. Mr. Carlson recently earned his master's degree in Educational Leadership in the spring of 2009 from Grand Valley State University. In July of 2008, Mr. Carlson and his family moved north to Escanaba in order for Mr. Carlson to be the principal of Holy Name Catholic School. Mr. Carlson enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, basketball and tennis. He loves living in Upper Peninsula and serving at Holy Name Catholic School. |
